NOTES The most unusual feature of the set is the joystick control at the front. This is an example of the famous, or at least infamous "Monoknob". The single control can be used for volume, selectivity and tuning, all in one ! The waveband switch is a ring around the joystick.

The model 785AX was the second in a line of Monoknob sets, the first being the model 795 that had been released the previous year.

The tuning dial is a lift-up unit that normally lies flat.

CURRENT STATE This set has obviously been restored at some stage. The woodwork is good, but the speaker grill cloth is an aweful replacement.
WHERE FOUND Bought at the NVCF for £35. If you were at the September 1999 NVCF then the radio is shown on page 11 of the show brochure.
