NOTES This little set uses the same chassis as the much larger (and older looking) model 834A. Its circuit is fairly primative; there is no volume control as such, rather the bias of the first RF variable-mu pentode is adjusted to increase of reduce sensitivity, and if that isn't enough you plug the aerial into an alternative lower sensitivity input.

However "super" the Philips inductors are, it is unlikely that the the selectivity of this set's two tuned circuits would be that special by the standards of the day, and certainly not good enough for today's crowded transmissions.
SERVICE DATA There is a copy of the "Trader" service sheet #612 (for the Philips 834A) on CD#3.
CURRENT STATE The cabinet has been refinished - a fairly good job if somewhat on the dark side.
