Front View [26K]

  • Circa 1949
  • LW and MW wavebands
  • 5 GEC Valves (X142, two WD142's, N142
    plus U142 H.T. rectifier)
  • A.C./D.C. Mains
  • Original cost unknown.
NOTES I can't quite make my mind up whether this set is a novel, innovative design, or just plain ugly ! Its certainly the latter when the paint is all scratched but maybe things will be different once its all pristine again.

Everything, including the tuning scale, is mounted onto a single chassis which lifts out from underneath the set. Otherwise, the chassis is very much the typical 4-valve-plus-rectifier circuit.
SERVICE DATA There is a copy of the original manufacturers service manual on CD#2. The manual carries the date April 1949.
CURRENT STATE The case and tuning scale are undamaged and the internals, whilst grubby, appear complete. However it is missing its original control knobs and is in need of a respray.
WHERE FOUND Center Electronics for about £10.
