Although not producing sets under their own name, Plessey produced standard chassis that were utilised by many manufacturers. As television expanded into the provinces, many new television "manufacturers" appeared on the scene, many of whome had never produced either a television or even a radio before ; it is almost certain they based their products on Plessey designed and manufactured chassis'.

Prior to manufacturing these standard chassis, Plessey may well have produced sets for other certain manufacturers such as the "Defiant" brand.
