| NOTES | With a ferrite aerial on a rotatable wheel and a tuning indicator, this must have been an upmarket set of a typical late 50's style. |
|---|---|
| SERVICE DATA | I have an electronic copy of the Trader service sheet 1439. |
| CURRENT STATE | The
set looks a little rough, but the case is undamaged. With some soapy water
plus an application "Bake-o-Bright" the case came up a treat.
Repaint the white band, clean the knobs, this set will look like new !"That" capacitor was very leaky - as they always are it seems - and the output valve cathode resistor was open circuit and a funny noise emanated from the rectifier valve. It now seems to work *too* well with some stations so strong there is distortion and the tuning indicator goes right of the scale. Time for a capacitor witch-hunt. |
| WHERE FOUND | July 2001 auction at Sambrook for a fiver. |
