This dexterity puzzle was manufactured by R.Journet who opened a toy shop in London in 1878 and began manufacturing
puzzles some time in the 1890's. His company went on to produce several hundred compact glass-topped puzzles
in the period up to the mid-60's when they were sold to Abbey Corinthian Games.
From the style of the background picture I would guess it dates from the early 1950's - but it is just a guess.
Of course I spent many enjoyable hours getting the pieces in their right place and I object most strongly to
any accusation that I simply turned the puzzle upside-down, scanned it and set to work on assembling the whole
thing with trusty old Paintshop Pro.
